When You Give Them a Stage

The last piece of the puzzle seems to be in place for the DILo Project to take off. This past Friday, A Meet and Greet was held to officially pair the Huckabee Architect Associates with each of the project teams captained by members of SILC. The event was held in the very place that will be redesigned by the minds of the students at South Hills High School.

During the event, students from South Hill's Architecture class taught by Mr. Sean Cox, were invited and were interviewed and recruited by the existing DILo Project teams. It was really neat to see the SILC team captains sit and talk with the students to determine if they would make a good fit to the team. They may need to sharpen their interview skills, but I think it all worked out.

Once the team of students were established, The Huckabee Architect associates sat with their perspective teams and conducted meaningful conversations around design and teh creative vision of the team. The disscussions were lively and engaging and I believe the level of excitement rose tremendously as our students began to see that this is really happening. I was very impressed by how well the students were able to articlutate their ideas and handle a real callaboration session with adults. I think the Huckabee Associates were impressed as well.

So the stage is set. The weekly consultations with TCU Interior Design Students and Huckabee Architects can officially begin. The students have invited their coaches into their private Slack rooms to get started to create schedules and timelines. I can't wait to see what happens next.

New images of the complete teams are coming soon. The following images are from the Meet and Greet event.
