Crowd Source Fundraising for Education.

We all know that schools are highly under-funded and the digital divide is widening with every day new technology is introduced. Some schools simply can't compete with other schools when it comes to providing technology that meets students where they are. Therefore, we turned to PledgeCents. We first discovered PledgeCents via an article on TechCrunch about ways for underfunded schools to raise money. We finally connected with this Houston based startup and launched our first project to encourage the fervor my advanced tech abmassadors had for telling a story through photography. The above video was put together by the students to raise enough funds to purchase more cameras so more stories could be told. Students were previously using my personal camera along with my personal computers to enhance their photos. Through an Event held in December by PledgeCents, the students were able to raise $1647 to fully fund their project. This was the first project that we ran using the PledgeCents platform. Take a look below to see the current projects from other teachers and the the additional project that were also successfully funded using PledgeCents.

An Impromptu interview with the Co-Founder

My tech squad is awesome! I pulled 2 students radomly and asked them to interview Andyshea Siberioon, President and Co-founder of PledgeCents during a visit to help teachers create causes that are in need of funds thus contributing to the success of the students.
